At its Annual General Meeting on Sunday 21 May, Netball Victoria recognised and celebrated the significant contribution of Board Member, Jenny Sanchez, who after 12 years stepped down from her role as President of the member organisation.
Jenny was first appointed to the Board of Directors in 2000, and from then until now has played a pivotal role in the success and shaping of the organisation, and more broadly the sport of Netball across the state.
Netball Victoria Chief Executive Officer, Rosie King gave thanks and appreciation to Jenny for her hard work and tireless dedication over the years.
“Jenny’s contribution to the Victorian Netball community over so many years is something that we are so appreciative of.
“She has been pivotal to the success of our organisation and has been a part of so many key achievements and milestones in our history for the best part of 20 years,” said King.
“We are very lucky that while Jenny is stepping down from her role as President she will remain on the board as an Associate Director until May 2018 to assist us with our transition,” said King.
“Jenny played a large part in the implementation of the organisation’s current strategic plan (2014-2018), which continues to guide our work across the state. She has also in her time seen the introduction of the former national competition, the ANZ Championships and in 2017 the new national competition – Suncorp Super Netball,” said King.
“During her time as President, Jenny has been an outstanding leader and champion for Netball in Victoria from grassroots to elite level, and a wonderful advocate for girls and women in sport. We would like to thank and honour her for her contribution,” said King.
