The 2023 Marie Little Shield fixture has been unveiled, setting the stage for an exciting three-day competition at Waverley Netball Centre from 15-17 September.
Introduced in 2013, the Marie Little Shield tournament provides female athletes with an intellectual disability the chance to represent their state at a national level.
Victoria's athletes are primed and determined to go one better this year, with their sights set on securing the gold medal. The side fell just short of the title in last year’s final, narrowly going down against New South Wales.
Day 1 will see Victoria taking on South Australia and Western Australia, while Day 2 promises to be action-packed as the team in navy face Queensland, Northern Territory, and the Australian Capital Territory.
Victoria won’t come up against last year’s champions until their final pool match on Sunday morning, with the tournament culminating in the highly anticipated finals, which are scheduled to kick off at 12:15pm.
Full of talent and determination, and with the support of their home crowd behind them, the Victorian team are excited to light up the court in 2023.
