Our 17/U team will be full of confidence after a commanding win in Round 4, while the 19/U team will be looking to bounce back after a string of narrow defeats.
ROUND 3
17/Under – VIC (40) drew with NSW (40)
The rivalry between Victoria and New South Wales is well and truly alive in the 17/U division, as the teams clashed in a fast-paced physical battle. Victoria broke away early with an explosive start, but by half time NSW had wrestled back momentum to level the scores. Mia Lavis starred for the Vics, scoring half the team’s goals. Shooting at 95% accuracy, she sank the very last shot of the match to seal the draw.
19/Under – VIC (45) defeated by WA (48)
It was a valiant effort from the 19/U team in their match against Western Australia. Tara Watson was outstanding as centre and wing defence throughout the hard-fought battle, while Lily Graham was the standout in attack, shooting at 92% accuracy. The Vics never gave up the chase but WA were too strong, claiming the win by three goals.
ROUND 4
17/Under – VIC (60) defeated NT (10)
The Victorians made a statement in the 17/U division with a commanding 50-goal win over Northern Territory. The team’s defensive pressure was on full display throughout the match, keeping NT to just seven goals by half time and 10 by the final siren. Georgie O’Brien starred defensively with two intercepts, while Elisa Butterworth-Gonebale produced a standout performance as centre and wing attack.
19/Under – VIC (37) defeated by QLD (41)
Despite a final quarter surge, Queensland proved too strong for the 19/U team. Christine Oguche narrowed the margin for Victoria, shooting nine goals in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough to claim victory. Ruby Shannon was also impressive for the Vics in the tough four-goal defeat.
