It was a race to claim a finals spot on day four of the National Netball Championships in Darwin, with both Victorian teams claiming two wins and securing a place in the top four after seven pool matches.
ROUND 6
17/Under – VIC (41) defeated SA (29)
The 17/U side continued their winning streak with a comfortable 12-goal win over South Australia. What began as a tight contest was quickly broken open by Teah Wilson, who came on early in the piece and dominated under the post, scoring 24 of the team’s goals. Georgie O’Brien was a game changer in wing defence, snagging a number of intercepts and proving herself a menace for the SA attack.
19/Under – VIC (43) defeated NSW (36)
A roaring crowd spurred on the 19/U team to clinch a seven-goal victory over defending champions New South Wales. In a must-win game for the Vics, the match was evenly poised until a late breakaway from the girls in navy. Lily Graham and Olivia Wilkinson were a winning combination in the circle, scoring a combined 29 goals.
ROUND 7
17/Under – VIC (33) defeated TAS (29)
In the final pool match of their fixture, the 17/U side showed plenty of grit to fight their way to a win in a tight contest with Tasmania who led for most of the match. Charli Hoey was outstanding in defence, claiming a couple of intercepts and deflections, while Mia Lavis and Teah Wilson dominated under the post shooting at 100% and 86% accuracy respectively.
19/Under – VIC (39) defeated ACT (27)
The 19/U side had it all on the line when they took on the ACT in their final pool match, needing a win to finish in the top 4. All four goalers took to the court throughout the match showcasing the depth of talent in the squad, with Lily Graham (93%) and Christine Oguche (92%) making the most of their opportunities.

Finals are here! With both squads finishing in third position, our 17/U side will face off with NSW while the 19/U team will take on WA on Saturday, each fighting for a spot in their respective gold medal matches on Sunday.
