Over 600 of the state’s up and coming netballers will fight for Netball Victoria’s State Titles presented by Lumo Energy at the recently redeveloped Pinks Reserve in October.
Hosted by Lillydale and Yarra Valley Netball Association and with the support of Netball Victoria’s Major Partner, Lumo Energy and the Yarra Ranges Council, the State Titles will be held on the weekend of 5-6 October.
Netball Victoria’s CEO Rosie King said “the State Titles is a great occasion that brings our whole community together from the 19 regions across Victoria, providing development opportunities for players, coaches and umpires with the support from the team at Netball Victoria. The competition provides another chance for us to see our emerging talent coming through the Victorian pathway.”
“With over 600 participants expected, this will be a fantastic opportunity for the Lilydale and Yarra Valley Netball Association to showcase the new development at Pinks Reserve, that has been possible with the backing of the local council and State Government.
“We thank Lumo Energy who have come on board as a partner of the event, a company that is a supporter of netball from grassroots right through to the Melbourne Vixens. It is great to continue this relationship and explore the avenues that Lumo can be involved in to help maintain netball as the number one team sport for females in Victoria.”
Yarra Ranges Councillor, Len Cox is excited to welcome the State Titles to the area.
“We’re pleased that the Netball Victoria State Titles will be held in Kilsyth this year,” Cr Cox said.
“We have a very passionate netball community in the Yarra Ranges and some great facilities for our players, such as the newly-redeveloped Pinks Reserve which received support from the Victorian Government’s Pick My Project grants.
“Getting to host the State Titles in the Yarra Ranges is a privilege. I hope many of our local players will come along to cheer on their favourites and use this event as inspiration to one day compete at such heights themselves.”
Lumo Energy are proud supporters of Netball Victoria, women’s sport and grass roots community netball for all girls.
