The Victorian Marie Little OAM Shield team returned from the national tournament in Perth at the start of September, with third place.
Naming themselves the ‘Foxies’ after the Melbourne Vixens, the team put out an impressive performance to finish the tournament in third place.
The Marie Little Shield is a national competition for athletes with an intellectual disability.
The three-day competition saw teams from across the country compete, with NSW claiming back-to-back titles.
The Foxies begun their competition in style, defeating Queensland 16-4 in their opening game.
Going down to the two Grand Finalists during the rounds, NSW and South Australia, Victoria played-off for third position, claiming their biggest win for the competition 26-0 over Western Australia.
