ROUND HIGHLIGHTS
Championship
- The Casey Demons have recently struggled to find consistency, and will be fighting for momentum in their match against the Western Warriors who are coming off the bye. What stands ahead of the Demons is the Warriors’ experienced attacking line of Kim Borger and Julia Woolley.
- Eyes are on the prize in the Wilson Storage Southern Saints’ game against Geelong Cougars. The Saints are battling to stay in touch with the top four, while the Cougars are looking to consolidate their position in finals contention. Expect a good battle as experienced Cougars shooter Zanna Woods comes up against Jessie Grenvold and Anna Donnelly
23&Under
- Boroondara Express has plenty to play for to stay in touch with the top four when they take on the Hawks this week. The Hawks have been dominant all season, and sit undefeated at the top of the table, but Express’ Abby Hocking and Kirra Parks have been impressive in defence and will be ready to take on Jess Tetley who is a focal point for the Hawks.
- MU Lightning’s attack end has been flying, but the second-placed side has more goals scored against them than each of the top four – this is a stat they will want to tighten up against the Waves’ shooting firepower Charlize Gabel Joseph who has barely missed a minute all season and has been delivering a high scoring output.
ONE TO WATCH
City West Falcons 23&U young gun Amalani Fauonuku has drawn plenty of interest across the season. Fauonuku, who represented Victoria in the 17/U National Netball Championships team, plays across both shooting positions and has been invaluable to her side. Benefitting from consistent minutes on court, she’s a challenge for opponents with her movement and high netball IQ.
