ONES TO WATCH
Championship
Boroondara Express will be hoping to rejoin the winners list when they play Hawks Netball. Second-placed Boroondara Express come off a Round 13 upset, while the Hawks are also hungry to tally some points. It’ll be a battle of the shooters at both ends of the court with Kaylia Stanton and Isabelle Hodgson going head-to-head this week. North East Blaze will be looking to continue their hot form when they face Melbourne University Lightning. Blaze are eying off their fourth consecutive win, while Lightning come off a strong victory against Express. Expect to see a fierce clash between Chloe Lambert and Casey Dunstan in the midcourt, who’ve both been unstoppable for their sides.
Division 1
Geelong Cougars are chasing four in a row when they take on Ariels. The ladder leaders are back to their best, while Ariels enjoyed their third win of 2023 last week. Cougars’ Ashlee Smith has been solid in goalkeeper and will need to keep the pressure high against Emmalia Blake. In other matchups, Falcons and Hawks will look to go one better following their draw in Round 13 with wins against the Waves and Express respectively. Wilson Storage Southern Saints will be hoping to get back to their winning ways when they take on Casey Demons. Keep an eye out for a battle between Holly Garac and Sarah McCabe, who’ve both been strong in the midcourt.
19/Under
Round 14 will see a top of the table clash between Melbourne University Lightning and North East Blaze. With both teams on winning runs and only percentage separating the two sides, it’s a showdown that can’t be missed! Luiza Sulemani, who’s been a rock for the Blaze in defence, will have her hands full trying to stop sharpshooter Kate O'Dwyer under the post. Third-placed City West Falcons will be hoping to cement their position towards the top of the ladder with a win against Peninsula Waves. Waves’ Charlize Gabel Joseph has been on fire in the circle and will need to continue that form when she comes up against Charlotte Sexton.
