ONES TO WATCH
Championship
Round 5 will see a top-of-the-table clash between Boroondara Express and City West Falcons. Express remain the only undefeated team in the division, while second-placed Falcons are hot on their heels. With multiple players returning from last week’s National Championships, and Boroondara’s Sarah Szczykulski facing her former club for the first time, it promises to be an entertaining matchup.
Division 1
Casey Demons are chasing their first win for 2023 as they host Peninsula Waves in a commemorative ANZAC Round at Casey Stadium. The Waves have one win under their belt, so the Demons will be hoping to tally some points in front of their home crowd. Melbourne University Lightning and North East Blaze faceoff after Round 4 wins, while Geelong Cougars will be looking to go 5-0 with a win against the Ariels.
19/Under
North East Blaze will look to bounce back from their first loss as they take on an undefeated Melbourne University Lightning in Round 5. Blaze fell short by just two goals in a tight contest against reigning champions City West Falcons last week, and while Lightning are yet to put a foot wrong, a rebounding Blaze could prove to be a challenge.
