ROUND HIGHLIGHTS
Championship
Casey Demons will host their first home games of the season when they take on Hawks Netball at Casey Stadium. Steph McNay has been having an impact in defence as she builds a formidable partnership with Gabrielle Dwyer, and will need to bring her trademark tenacity to shut down the Hawks’ attacking firepower in Kaylia Stanton and Annabelle Gorman.
23&Under
Both Bendigo Strikers and Peninsula Waves will be searching for their first win when they come up against each other this week. Charlize Gabel Joseph has continued where she left off last season, the 19&Under Hot Shot winner dominating the shooting stats for Waves in each of the first four rounds.
ONE TO WATCH
Mackenzie O’Dwyer moved from City West Falcons to the new Bendigo side off the back of a huge 2023, earning 17/Under Victorian and Australian pathway selection, and is one to watch against Peninsula Waves this week. The dynamic defensive midcourter has been playing consistent minutes for Strikers so far in 2024 and her form indicates she’s again reaping the benefits of the Victorian State team program; O’Dwyer will represent Victoria at next week’s National Netball Championships in Frankston.
