Championship- Mel Bragg
The captain of the Geelong Cougars has been instrumental to the side’s success so far this season. Mel Bragg stands up in the moments when her team needs her to. From taking an intercept or taking the ball on the circle edge to feed it into the goalers , she’ll stop at just about nothing to get her team over the line. Bragg is a defensive midcourter, playing predominantly in wing defence or centre. In centre she provides that element of speed and class throughout the court and is strong when hitting circle edge. While in wing defence she can put the clamps on her opponent and get plenty of ball back for her team.
Division 1- Kaylah Loulanting
Kaylah Loulanting has been a key in the North East Blaze goal circle this season, at just the age of 18, Loulanting is taking Division 1 by storm. Her strong movement in the goal circle makes it hard for defenders to come away with possession. When Loulanting turns and goes to post, she’s cool, calm and collected with the goaler able to shoot from just about anywhere in the goal circle. Loulanting is also very dynamic, able to create that moving circle or become a holding shooter that’s able to rip the ball out of the air. Loulanting will once again be in action this week when the top of the table North East Blaze take on the Casey Demons.
19/ Under- Eryn Stocker
The captain of the Peninsula Waves has really led from the front this season with Eryn Stocker really controlling the play in attack for the Waves. Stocker combines nicely with Jess Tetley in goal attack with the pair developing an impressive midcourter to shooter connection. She also combines nicely with fellow midcourter Holly Moulday to create a dynamic pairing around circle edge. Stocker is a real workhorse, able to seamlessly transition between both centre and wing attack and works hard off the ball to make sure that the Waves can score.
