Casey Demons v Ariels
Hawks Netball v Wilson Storage Southern Saints
Geelong Cougars v Melbourne University Lightning
Championship- Julia Woolley
The reigning dual MVP, Julia Woolley has been key for the Geelong Cougars for a number of seasons now and season 2022 is no different. Woolley is a real playmaker for the Cougars in the goal circle able to back herself in or offload to fellow goaler Zanna Woods. The pair have a great combination able to make the impossible look so simple with Woolley renowned for the look away pass. Woolley will have to be on her A-game when the Cougars come up against the formidable defensive end of the Melbourne University Lightning, in the top of the table clash.
Division 1- Tadiwa Kahonde
Tadiwa Kahonde is an exciting player for the Wilson Storage Southern Saints and while her main position may be in wing defence, she can play any position in the defensive end and no matter her opponent, she’ll win ball back for the Southern Saints. Kahonde’s vertical leap and closing speed is a real asset, getting finger tips to plenty of ball and often coming away with intercepts credit to her hard work. This was on show in the Saints last clash with the City West Falcons when Kahonde came up against Falcons shooter Tharjini Sivalingam.
19/ Under- Teal Hocking
Teal Hocking is a real playmaker in the City West Falcons goal circle and an integral player in the Falcons attack end with her efforts so far this season helping the Falcons get to the top of the table. Hocking’s timing is impeccable whether that be her drives along the baseline or popping out to receive the ball. Hocking is also extremely accurate when turning to post and isn’t afraid to go for those long range shots. Hocking will be firing once again when the Falcons come up against the Peninsula Waves.
