Round Nine of the Victorian Netball League starts tonight at Christian College when the Geelong Cougars host the City West Falcons.
It will be the first of five exciting match-ups to take place across the next three days.
The Cougars’ 19 under team are the only side across all three divisions to remain undefeated following the completion of eight rounds. But this week they face a Falcons outfit with only one loss to their name and chasing a seventh consecutive victory.
With both the Cougars and Falcons entrenched inside the top four in all three divisions, the Championship and Division One encounters are expected to be closely fought matches too.
On Saturday, Championship leaders the Melbourne University Lightning will travel to the Patterson River Secondary College to take on the Peninsula Waves from 5pm AEST.
The Waves enter their championship clash full of confidence following a come from behind victory against the Cougars in Round Eight.
The Round will conclude on Sunday with the remaining three matches set to take place.
The Wilson Storage Southern Saints will host the DC North East Blaze at Mentone Grammar, Monash University Storm will play the Yarra Valley Grammar Ariels at the State Netball and Hockey Centre, and the Wendouree Sports and Events Centre will host the ACU Sovereigns against the Boroondara Express.
Netball Victoria would like to encourage all fans to go out and support their clubs at their home venues this weekend.
