Championship - Nyah Allen
Nyah Allen has played a key role in the North East Blaze Championship season which sees them competing in the finals this week. Allen has a strong combination with Georgia Moody with the pair dangerous from just about anywhere in the goal circle. Allen is strong at both goal shooter and goal attack and remains cool, calm and collected when turning to go to post. Allen and the North East Blaze will go up against the Melbourne University Lightning in an elimination final. The match up between Allen and Gabby Coffey or Ramayer Gourley will be one to watch and could decide the outcome of the match with the Lightning defence extremely strong.
Division 1 - Indya Ford
Indya Ford is an exciting defender for the Geelong Cougars and boasts plenty of versatility to play both defensive positions. Ford dominates in the air with her vertical jump and is a real highlight with her ability to get fingertips and win possession back. Ford has a strong combination with Ellen Doyle, the pair winning plenty of ball back for their side and causing headaches for the opposition. Ford and the Cougars will be coming up against the City West Falcons in a do-or-die final on Wednesday, with the potential matchup of Ford and Zoe McLeash one to watch.
19/Under - Lavinia Fox
Lavinia Fox is a key member of the Melbourne University Lightning’s side with her versatility and dependability a couple of integral factors. Fox has been able to play both attacking midcourt positions, but spends most of her time out at goal attack and is able to bring that element of composure to the attack end for the Lightning. Fox is also a playmaker no matter her position, and is one that her teammates look for out on the centre pass. The Lightning will come up against City West Falcons with the winner progressing through to the Grand Final. A potential match up of Fox against young gun Charli Nicol will be one to watch out for.
