KEY MOMENTS
Championship
- The Strikers were on a high after their first win of the season last week, throwing everything at the Demons. Charlotte Sexton kept the Strikers in the game with critical intercepts, supported well across the court. In a tense final 20 seconds with scores even, smart ball handling through the Casey mid-court and into the circle saw them take the win.
- Tight tussles were the theme of the round, with a 1-goal win to Boroondara to maintain their position at the top of the table. With scores even at half time, the Warriors put their noses in front at the final break and managed to open up a 5-goal lead in the final quarter. Led by Taylah Brown, Express capitalised key turnovers in a tight finish to secure the win in the final seconds.
23&Under
- Peninsula Waves put on a strong performance, as the young side continues to combine well across the court. Charlize Gabel-Joseph used her strong holds and shooting accuracy to extend the lead throughout the third quarter, bringing home a dominant win.
- Neck and neck for the first half, Boroondara Express put their foot down against the Western Warriors with a 7-goal run in the third quarter, supported by strong defensive pressure of Joanne Wietrzyk. In her second match back from injury, goaler Olivia Morris impressed with 38 goals (97.4%), helping secure an impressive 19-goal win.
