KEY MOMENTS
Championship
- North East Blaze’s winning streak rolls on after a win over Geelong Cougars at the State Netball Centre. Georgia Moody starred again for Blaze, scoring 14 goals and supporting Rolene Streutker who finished with 40 (95%).
- Falcons’ midcourter Maggie Lind shone in her side’s win over MU Lightning, with pinpoint precision into her goalers Jane Cook (53 goals at 100%) and Uneeq Palavi (14, 88%). The Falcons sit in third position on the ladder.
- In front of a sold-out home crowd at Red Energy Arena, the Bendigo Strikers set out to showcase their skills with defender Charlotte Sexton relishing the opportunity to start and creating plenty of turnovers, keeping Strikers in the game. It was a quality performance by Express defenders Sarah Szczkyulski, Ruby Peckin-Schlit and Sophie Shoebridge who made it difficult for the Strikers goalers, with a full court performance for Express securing the seven-goal win.
23&Under
- Wilson Storage Southern Saints managed a convincing win over Gippsland Stars despite a close three quarters. The well-oiled Saints side managed to break away in the final term, with goaler Hayley Howard cementing the win, scoring 54 goals (96%).
- Geelong Cougars have jumped two spots up the ladder after their win over North East Blaze. The see-sawing affair was anyone’s guess across the four quarters, but it was the Cougars who prevailed with a 16-9 final quarter.
- A thrilling third quarter blitz from City West Falcons kept them in the game against MU Lightning. However, the comeback momentum was halted by Lightning who managed to hold onto the lead and take the win in a tight final term.
