Considered a tall WA in the 1950’s and 1960’s Joyce was an athletic purposeful mover with clean cut set of skills and a safe pair of hands. She played GA in her early years and moved to WA where she became an excellent feeder and center pass receiver.

Joyce was a relentless competitor tactically creative and considered a great team player. Although highly competitive she had a steady head when the team was under pressure and gave confidence to the team around her. She went on to captain Australia at the 1st world Championships in England which they won. Her coaching career record is outstanding covering School Girls, Victorian and Australia levels spanning 3 decades interspersed with ‘having 4 children. She later became a board member of Victoria and Australia and is credited with introducing netball clinics throughout the major country regions in Victoria in the 1970’s. She coached the Victorian team to 2 national titles and Australia to 3 World Championships as well as being the National coaching director for 5 years. Joyce coached many other international tours. Having succeed on so many levels she is most proud of being the first named Legend of the game in the Australian Hall of Fame.FIND OUT MORE
