ACCREDITATIONS
Updating your accreditation just got easier!
Umpires can now update their accreditation online through Netball Learning.
By moving to an online updating system, Netball Australia is reducing the administration for you, our learner. We’ll be able to easily see whose accreditation is up-to-date and be able to point you in the right direction for ongoing education and development opportunities.
*Please note Netball Victoria will no longer be accepting Accreditation Updating Forms. Umpires will need to follow the below online updating process*
We require all of our on court umpires to complete a series of tasks over a four year period after they’ve successfully attained their Netball Australia C, B, A or AA badge.
We recommend that all umpires continue to upgrade their knowledge, skills and competencies after they’ve attained their badge. Staying up-to-date maintains the overall quality of umpires in netball and makes sure they are provided with ongoing education and development opportunities.
Our ongoing education and development opportunities cover areas such as:
- The latest information on developments in netball
- Rules knowledge and current interpretations
- Access to the most up-to-date techniques and skills relating to umpiring

You will need to update your accreditation every four years
Q: How does it work?

Points are gained through completing courses, including the Rules of Netball exam, various workshops and meetings and completing the required hours of practical umpiring.
Q: When do I need to update my accreditation?
You can update your accreditation within 6 months of your current accreditation expiry date. Netball Learning will remind you via email when your accreditation is nearing its expiry.
Q: What information do I need to provide to update my accreditation?
You will need to provide information about your practical umpiring including the amount of hours, which association or league and what grade or level you’ve umpired.
Q: Do I need to update my accreditation if I am an off-court umpire?
Umpire Mentors, Testers or Developers who are no longer actively umpiring must complete the Rules of Netball exam every four years to be eligible to present and/or test as part of the National Umpire Accreditation System.
