The 2023 Victorian Netball League fixture has dropped with a blockbuster 18 rounds of action set to hit the courts next season.
Round 1 will commence on Wednesday 15 March with the Grand Final taking place for all three divisions on Wednesday 9 August.
This season will once again feature occasional weekend matches while the home games throughout the year will provide fans with an opportunity to support their teams at local venues.
We won’t have to wait long to see the Championship Division Grand Final rematch with Geelong Cougars and City West Falcons locking horns in Round 1 on Sunday 19 March at Wurdi Baierr Stadium.
Reigning Division 1 premiers Hawks Netball will also be eager to defend their title, coming up against Casey Demons in the opening round.
There will be a week-long hiatus between Rounds 4 and 5 to accommodate the National Netball Championships, allowing teams to come back refreshed for the remainder of the season.
Round 9 marks our annual Pride Round with all 10 clubs set to play at the State Netball Centre. Round 11 will mark our First Nations Round following the success of the inaugural initiative in 2022.
Finals kickstart on 26 July with major and minor semi finals in each division. The preliminary finals will get underway the following week with the winner from each match heading into the big dance on 9 August.
After a year off, familiar faces such as Shae Brown and Fiona Fowler are set to return to the VNL stage with Melbourne University Lightning alongside Geelong Cats AFLW star, Rene Caris.
Former London Pulse and Melbourne Vixens midcourter Tayla Honey and Vixens and Australian Diamonds great Renae Ingles will return for Casey Demons, showcasing the great talent we have in Victoria.
Jane Searle will continue on as head coach of the Wilson Storage Southern Saints while Collingwood Magpies’ assistant coach, Kate Upton will continue to lead North East Blaze for the 2023 season.
