Kim Commane has been named by the Melbourne Vixens as a permanent replacement player for the 2016 ANZ Championship season.
Commane (nee Borger), 27, hails from Wollongong and replaces goal attack Tegan Philip who suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) at a pre-season match in Shepparton earlier this month.
Commane brings a wealth of experience to the Vixens roster having previously represented Australia in the under-21 national team from 2008 to 2010.
A natural leader on the court, Commane vice-captained the NSW Blues in the Australian Netball League (ANL) in 2011 and was on the Swifts playing list in 2012.
She was most recently selected in the 2016 NSW Waratahs ANL squad.
“Kim has been a welcome addition to the team since her arrival. She brings a wealth of experience and a talented skill set to the team and we are excited to have her at the Melbourne Vixens,” General Manager – High Performance and Commercial Michelle Gerdtz said.
