Today marks the beginning of National Volunteer Week.
Running through until Sunday 24 May, the theme of this year’s National Volunteer Week is ‘Changing Communities. Changing Lives.’
Due to the current period of hiatus our sport and our industry finds itself in due to the COVID-19 pandemic, at Netball Victoria we feel that this year, more than ever it is important to celebrate all of the amazing volunteers within our netball community and the work that they do to make our game great.
Whilst of course our National Volunteer Week celebrations can only happen virtually in 2020, we see this as an even greater opportunity to share the love and gratitude for the work our volunteers do further and wider than ever before.
As well as sharing some of the incredible stories from a handful of volunteers from the Victorian netball community throughout National Volunteer week, we’re excited to launch the #GoodEnergyGoodPeople competition, presented by Origin, where you could also win one of your club’s dedicated volunteers a fantastic prize.
We’re asking you to share a video about a volunteer from your club about how they make a difference to your team or community. Maybe it’s one of your coaching staff? The person who always puts their hand up for canteen duty? Or the person who dutifully does the umpire roster, week in, week out? Whoever it is, please share their story with us! You could win them a brand-new tablet and a personalised message from Melbourne Vixens player, Liz Watson!
Videos to be submitted via Netball Victoria social media. Don’t forget to tag your entries with @netballvic and use the hashtag #GoodEnergyGoodPeople.
