Netball Victoria is incredibly saddened by the news of Marg Connellan’s passing on Monday, 1 February.
Marg was President and one of the founders of the Prahran Netball Association and held a position on the Netball Victoria board from 2000-2007. She was a Netball Victoria State Councillor for Cowan region from 1994-1995, and for Henderson region from 1996-1999.
Marg’s contribution to netball in Victoria was astounding, particularly in her 20+ year long fight to ensure children in the Stonnington area have every opportunity to play netball with the proposal to build the Stonnington Stadium.
Her legacy in Victorian netball will live on, with her catch cry ‘get on with it’ echoing around the Prahran Netball Association courts for years to come.
Our thoughts are with Marg’s family, friends and the entire community at the Prahran Netball Association for the loss of one of Victorian netball’s greatest ambassadors.
