Netball Victoria is delighted to announce they are commencing the application process for Victorian Fury and Netball Victoria State team positions for the 2018 Australian Netball League (ANL) and National Championship (NNC) roles.
Netball Victoria are pleased to confirm Leesa Gallard will be continuing as Head Coach of the Victorian Fury for the 2018 (ANL) season.
Gallard coached the team to the grand final in the 2017, falling narrowly short of claiming the title.
“I’m very excited and pleased to be back with the Fury for 2018,” said Gallard.
“I’m really looking forward to continuing with the work begun this year to drive the further development of our talented Victorian athletes, and for the Fury as a strong team unit to again strive for success in the ANL.”
Gallard said she looks forward to coaching the future stars of Australian netball.
“We shall continue to provide a training and competition environment that enables our athletes to experience and learn from playing netball in the ANL, so they can endeavour to move to the next level and be our next Melbourne Vixen or Australian Diamond.”
Netball Victoria has also restructured their Talent Squad program and will see a Development State Team selected within each age group (17/U and 19/U). The Development teams will have a similar training phase to the selected State Teams but won’t travel to Nationals.
The re-structure will provide Netball Victoria the opportunity to expose more young athletes to High-Performance programs and pre-elite training environments.
There will also be increased opportunities for Victorian Coaches to work within our High-Performance System. Further information about the Talent Squad re-structure will be released shortly.
Netball Victoria are currently seeking applications for High Performance positions in the Victorian Fury, State Team and Talent Squads for 2018.
