Emily Mannix has been elevated to the Samsung Australian Diamonds team for the upcoming Quad Series, joining fellow Vixens Liz Watson, Jo Weston and Kate Moloney in the touring squad of 14.
Mannix’s elevation follows the withdrawal of Sharni Layton from the series. Layton has not received medical clearance to re-join the team, after missing the Diamonds’ most recent outings.
12 players from the touring squad of 14 will be selected for the games 24 hours prior to each match.
Mannix made her International debut in September following Layton’s withdrawal from the team.
Taking the court in one match against the New Zealand Silver Ferns, Mannix impressed against some of the world’s best shooters, partnering with Weston in the defensive circle.
The Diamonds squad will gather in Canberra on 11 January for a Commonwealth Games Simulation Camp in the lead-up to the Quad Series, which begins on 20 January in England.
