Return to Play - Latest Update
We have been overjoyed watching the steady return of community netball across Victoria and we look forward to seeing more associations and leagues commence in the coming weeks.
Effective 11:59pm Sunday 08 November, the 25km travel limit will no longer be in place and the boundary between Metro Melbourne and Regional Victoria will come down. There will be some changes to indoor community sport venues across metro Melbourne, unfortunately this does not include netball competitions and programs. Non-contact training may occur at indoor venues with a maximum of 20 people, but only if participants can maintain 1.5 metre physical distancing.
There are no changes to community netball in regional Victoria. There is no change to community sport for adults across Victoria.
Netball Victoria’s Return to Community Netball guidelines have been updated, you can find the latest resources here.
We look forward to the further easing of restrictions on 23 November and will provide further detail once it is available.
Australian Netball Championships
Suncorp Super Netball clubs and state and territory member organisations will next year enter teams into the Australian Netball Championships (ANC), a new-look pathway competition that will replace the Australian Netball League (ANL) in 2021.
The ANC will be delivered in a tournament-style format at a single location over one to two weeks and expanded team entry parameters will allow inclusion of teams from member organisations and Suncorp Super Netball clubs, or a combination of both.

Who's Your Hero? - A Victorian Govt. Initiative From The Hon. Ros Spence MP
HERO invites young people to share a short story about their hero, including their superpower and how they would change Victoria for the better. This will create a picture of Victoria’s ultimate team of heroes, ready to solve issues and help Victoria to be a place that reflects the vision, hopes and aspirations of our young people.
Victoria’s hero team will be visualised through a series of illustrations produced by emerging Victorian artists. Each young story-teller who makes a contribution to HERO can opt to receive a copy of the illustrated hero team, as a memento of the role they have played in shaping the youth strategy.
Please encourage the young people you work with, who participate in your programs or use your services to get involved. They can access HERO from the Victorian Government’s Youth Central website until Friday 18 December: youthcentral.vic.gov.au/HERO
Communications collateral to assist with your promotion is available at this link.
If you would like further information about HERO or the development of the new youth strategy, please contact Gerry Goswell, Director, Equality and Youth Branch, Department of Premier and Cabinet via youth@dpc.vic.gov.au.
