NetSetGO (NSG) is Australia’s official starter program for girls and boys aged 5 to 10, offering kids a chance to learn the netball basics, get outside and make friends.
Glenice Justin, who has 25 years of experience in coaching juniors, was thrilled to be elected coach of the NSG group.
“I have a real interest in developing younger players and teaching them the fundamental skills of netball and have so far, really enjoyed the past two years of coaching the NSG program at KNFNC.”
The program runs throughout term two every Thursday night for ten weeks, with each session running for around an hour.
“The girls would jump at the chance to be able to participate in the NSG program for more than one term!” Glenice exclaimed.
However, KNFNC do run a development program for kids that are in between NSG and the 13/U division that spans for the duration of the season.
“We created this development program so that the kids who don’t want to be running around with the preppies but are not yet old enough for the 13/U division, get the opportunity to train and learn every week.”
Fred who is the father of NSG participant, Taylor, said that his daughter has been involved in the program for a couple of years and thinks it is great for her development in netball.
“Taylor loves NSG, it’s honestly the highlight of her week,” Fred said.
Taylor, who is eight years old, wants to continue NSG for as long as she can and is excited to join KNFNC’s development program when she comes of age.
There are 472 NSG centres around Victoria, head here to register your kids in a program near you.
