Most Valuable Player – Julia Woolley (Geelong Cougars)
With a vast amount of experience of netball, picking up her first netball at the age of 6, Julia has played in the VNL since 2013. In 2017 she joined Geelong Cougars as one of their primary goalers, predominantly seen wearing a goal attack bib.
Julia’s 2019 season has been outstanding, racking up a six-week streak of 3-point MVP votes. Her diverse style of play in attack makes her an asset to Cougars and made her an integral component of their 2019 premiership match.
Julia’s drives, passes and goals never cease to have 100% intensity behind them. Her communication on and off the court with team mates highlights her loyalty as a player and makes her the 2019 MVP.
Hot Shot – Libby Nicol (North East Blaze)
Libby Nicol has continued to assert her dominance as one of the VNL’s most exceptional goalers. Her precision shooting has given her a three-year monopoly on the Hot Shot award, never showing a sign of slowing down her blazing goals.
This year she shot an impressive 835 goals and achieved a goaling percentage of 90%. It is not only her height that has assisted to her success, but her natural instinct to navigate the goal circle and position herself in prime locations.

Division One
Most Valuable Player – Maddy Wallmeyer (Boroondara Express)
Maddy Wallmeyer has been one of those players in 2019 that never leaves your sight on the court. Her speed and striking changes of direction make her a midcourt powerhouse that connects the ball from player to player.
Having moved from North East Blaze to debut with Boroondara this year, the success of her team took them to the 2019 Division One Grand Final against Blaze where they walked as Runners Ups.
Hitting a circle edge has been Maddy’s speciality and her reliance on team members to trust passing choices has resulted in some show stopping plays. Maddy’s consistency and positive attitude on court makes it enjoyable to watch her play and awards her the 2019 Division One MVP award.
Hot Shot – Abigail Gedge (North East Blaze)
A newcomer to VNL, Abigail’s development has seen her shoot up the ranks from C grade footy netball a couple of years ago, into a now VNL Division One premiership player.
Abby provides a target in the goal circle, making it easy for the midcourt to spot her, and even easier for her to finish of the hard work of team plays with accurate goaling. Over the 2019 season, Abigail achieved a stunning 88% goal accuracy with a total of 564 goals.

Most Valuable Player – Ellen Doyle (Geelong Cougars)
With over ten years’ netball experience, Ellen has represented many netball sides and won her first ever VNL premiership in 2017. With a never-say-die attitude, Ellen is the kind of player that will never give up on a match and give 100% effort until the last second.
Seen putting up an almost unbeatable defence in Goal-Keeper or at the opposite end of the court ranking up her goal count as a goaler, Ellen is a versatile asset to Geelong. She has strength and a captivating reach that allows her to pull in the ball and can strategically predict the movement of her team mates.
Ellen is a charismatic young netball player who is sure to go far in the sport, making her the 2019 19 & Under MVP.
Hot Shot – Jasmin Mackie (Peninsula Waves)
In her first year with Peninsula Waves, Jasmin has been a stand out and key player for her side. Her strength and accuracy in the ring has been an integral part of Waves’ success that drove them to play in the 2019 Grand Final.
Shooting with conviction, Jasmin bested the 19/U goaling competition to shoot a whopping 582 goals and achieve a goal accuracy of 91%. Her mobility as a goaler hints that her VNL career is only just beginning.
