After claiming another two wins against Southern Force in Adelaide, the Fury are sitting on top of the ANL ladder, sharing equal points with reigning premiers the Tasmanian Magpies.
Goal keeper, Rudi Ellis has been impressed on how well the group has jelled over the past two rounds and the way the team has adapted to their roles.
“I think having the four wins under our belt is a good thing, but each team brings different challenges and we’ve started going into the weekend fresh and just working on our connections on court,” Ellis said.
“I think this year it’s been really good having the rolling subs, because it means that everyone is getting a chance to take the court and we have the ability to try new things. We’re going into this weekend really focussed on the games ahead and hopefully coming away with a few wins.”
The two teams last met in round 6 of the 2018 season, with both games coming down to triumphs by 8 and 3 goals for the Fury.
“We had a look at the footage for Western Sting for the first two rounds, particularly against the Waratahs and as defensive unit we have discussed what the shooters will be doing on a basic level. But this week, there has really been a focus on continuing to build as a team.”
“The Western Sting team seems a bit different this year and being a home game, that always provides a fierce encounter.”
The Victorian Fury will take on the Western Sting at the State Netball Centre in Perth this Saturday and Sunday.
